Nice, France

After spending the first several weeks unpacking and settling in, we were ready to take our first trip to Nice, France. After all, we thought it'd be nice to take Tony's parents somewhere other than London before they returned home.
I'll have to start by saying that the most memorable part of the trip was the journey to get to Nice. Usually it takes about two hours by plane to get there, but we took a little 10 hour detour. After missing our flight (due to a combination of several factors), we had to book an entirely new flight to Pisa because the next available flight to Nice was in two days. So after flying to Pisa, we spent the whole day catching trains, three in all. I think the in-laws will permanently be scarred by PTSD suffered from catching trains at the last minute.
No sand, just rocks.
With that said, we had a beautiful time in Nice. We felt the warmth of the sun just after stepping off the plane, something we hadn't experienced for a week or so in London. It was a nice contrast to be in hot weather and be able to don our sandals and shorts. We mostly spent our days in leisure, walking along the Cote d'Azur (coast), swimming in the ocean, and eating delicious seafood and gelato. This is the life!
